Important information for traveling to the Salar de Uyuni and the REA:
Any visit to this region of Bolivia is considered an adventure trip. The scenic beauty coexists freely and harmoniously with the life of the region; however, for visitors, conditions are extreme, the weather is highly variable, long hours are spent on the road, infrastructure is limited, and altitude sickness is very common.
We will be at approximately 3,600 meters above sea level with high solar radiation. Therefore, it is necessary to acclimatize before the trip. Take it easy and avoid strenuous physical activity. Rest in a high-altitude city in the days leading up to your trip and prevent altitude sickness with coca tea or over-the-counter medications like Sorojchipill. Drink plenty of water.
Don't worry too much; we'll take care of your safety and comfort during the trip.
Our main recommendation is: "Don't expect anything from this trip." High expectations can ruin the experience, so we want you to enjoy the moment. You might be short of breath, the food might not agree with you, you might be freezing, or you might get sunburned... But you also might not...
So, is this trip worth it?... Absolutely! It's worth every second!
